Healthy eating with fruits and vegetables

Healthy eating with fruits and vegetables
by: Zaak OConan
Dietary experts recommend that every person should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. The importance of fruits and vegetables to a healthy diet has been known for quite some time, but studies have shown that very few people eat the amount of fruits and vegetables recommended for a healthy diet. That’s a shame, since eating a sufficient number of fruits and vegetables just may be the single most effective thing you can do to improve your overall health. The five a day approach to healthy eating may be the single most important strategy you can adopt for a healthier lifestyle. The many health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables have been established for quite some time now. Study after study has shown that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables lowers the risk of certain cancers, heart disease and other chronic diseases and conditions. Some studies have suggested that as many as 35% of cancer deaths can be attributed to diet, and that diets high in fats and low in fruits and vegetables contributes to unnecessary cancer deaths. Fruits and vegetables have a lot of advantages besides just their nutritional importance. For one thing, they taste great and add a great deal of variety to everyday meals. Fruits and vegetables come in such a wide variety of colors, textures and flavors that they can be used in virtually every meal. Those seeking to maximize their consumption of fruits and vegetables should get into the habit of using fruits in salads, as toppings and as garnishes. In addition to their great taste, fruits and vegetables are packed full of many essential vitamins and minerals, including many micronutrients that are not included in packaged vitamin supplements. For instance, foods like butternut squash, pumpkins, carrots, mangoes, peaches, pawpaws and green leafy vegetables are rich in beta carotene. Beta carotene is vital for healthy skin and eyes. In addition, most varieties of fruits and vegetables contain vitamin C, another important vitamin and a strong antioxidant. Good sources of vitamin C include Brussels sprouts, citrus fruits, strawberries, broccoli, nectarines and kiwi fruit. Many fruits and vegetables, including spinach, broccoli and avocadoes, are also good sources of vitamin E, another excellent antioxidant. Men and women alike should always strive to eat a healthy diet, but women have an extra incentive to get all the nutrition they need. Proper nutrition is essential to a healthy pregnancy, and some of the baby’s biggest nutritional needs happen before the pregnancy is discovered. Folic acid is perhaps the best known essential nutrient for pregnant women. Folic acid has been proven effective at preventing a variety of birth defects, including Spina Bifida. Good dietary sources of folic acid include Brussels sprouts, broccoli, spinach and oranges. In addition, due to its importance to women of child bearing years, many common foods such as cereals and breads, are supplemented with folic acid. In addition to their importance as source of vitamins and minerals, fruits and vegetables also provide essential dietary fiber. Adequate fiber in the diet is important in preventing heart disease and some kinds of cancer. Another great feature of fruits and vegetables, especially to those watching their weight, is the high nutrition, low fat, low calorie nature of these foods. Fruits and vegetables contain very low levels of fats, and a diet low in fat can be quite effective for long term weight loss. In addition, fruits and vegetables contain no cholesterol, and they are lower in calories than many other types of foods. With all these things going for them, it is no wonder so many dietary experts recommend eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Not only are fruits and vegetables delicious and nutritious, but they can be quite inexpensive as well. Buying fruits and vegetables that are locally grown, and that are in season, is usually the most cost effective way to get the freshest fruits and veggies at the lowest possible cost. This buying strategy also helps to ensure a steady stream of new fruits and vegetables every month, as some go out of season while others are just coming in. Trying a variety of different fruits and vegetables, including some you may not be familiar with, is also a great way to create exciting new dishes and prevent yourself from becoming bored with the same old diet. Whether your goal is to lose weight or just increase your level of fitness, it is hard to go wrong with a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. 10 Tips For Saving Cash On Your Gas

10 Tips For Saving Cash On Your Gas
by: Pete Lance
Gas prices are getting more and more ridiculous. And it’s going to keep increasing with no limit in sight! For the new car owners out there, do you know that a gallon of unleaded gasoline used to cost only $1.25? Therefore, it is becoming more and more important to maximize your money and save at the gas station. So here we have compiled 10 best tips to help you get the most out of your dollar! Tip 1: Shop Around This is the advice that you can apply anytime you buy anything. Always shop around. You can get a cheaper price for your favorite brand, and probably a yet cheaper price for a different brand. Tip 2: Use a Gasoline Credit Card Gasoline credit cards are great! They can save you 5 10ff your gasoline purchase. Tip 3: Buy Gasoline When the Weather is Cool Gasoline is denser in cooler temperatures, such as in the morning or at night. Gas stations measure volume, not density, so you'll be getting more solid fuel than vapors, thus improving your overall gas mileage. Tip 4: Avoid Gas Stations That Just Refilled Their Tanks When underground tanks are refilled, particles at the bottom of the tank get stirred up, and when these particles get into your gasoline tank, they affect the fuel efficiency of your car. Tip 5: Don’t Top Off The gas pump needs time to draw out the full amount of gas, so When you purchase a bit of gas the station, you get short bursts of fuel that you'll probably pay extra for. You should refill your tank when you have less than half a talk left or when you find a price that is so low you cannot afford to miss it. Tip 6: Don’t Use High Octane Gas Most cars nowadays are built to run on regular unleaded gas. Purchasing higher octane gas is simply a waste of money. Octane measures how hard it is to ignite gas, not the quality of the gas, so getting higher octane gas will not improve fuel efficiency. You should only get these more expensive gases when your engine pings, knocks or rattles. Tip 7: Pump Your Own Gas It's cheaper to pump your own gas at the self-serve stations rather than using the full-serve pumps. Full-serve gasoline naturally costs more. Tip 8: Lessen the Use of Air-Conditioning This tip is simple enough. Air-conditioning uses electricity, and they can reduce fuel economy by up to 20àIt's advisable to use the air ventilation system instead. Tip 9: Plan Your Trip You can avoid unnecessary driving by planning your trip before hand, and of course that saves you money on gas consumption. Tip 10: Purchase Vehicles That Get Good Mileage This is probably one of the best tips anybody can give on saving money at the gas pump. It's always better to purchase vehicles that get good gas mileage. Check with your car dealer about cars that have better fuel economy. Up movie make a wish granted to Colby Curtin.

Colby Curtin, a ten year old girl died of cancer this week, her final wish was somewhat fulfilled. Colby desperately wanted to see the new movie, "Up." But was too sick to go to the theater. The producer Pixar was told of Colby's illness and sent a representative to deliver a DVD for her to watch in her room. Even though she could no longer see, her mother narrated the action. She then died several hours after the movie ended.

Podcasters, Use These Simple Facts To Convert Visitors To Subscribers

Podcasters, Use These Simple Facts To Convert Visitors To Subscribers By: Hendry Lee

-->Unless you were living in the cave for the last six months, you've probably heard about Podcasting. Savvy marketers begin to adapt this new technology as a marketing tool to help them communicate with their prospective customers. In this article, I am about to explain why Podcasting can be so popular while other proprietary streaming audio protocol failed. These simple facts help you assure your visitors to adopt the technology and subscribe to your podcast. Introduction to Podcasting Podcasting, as its name implies, is a combination of two terms: 1) iPod: a popular media player by Apple, and 2) broadcasting: delivering your audio files to those that subscribe to it But it may not always have to do with iPod. One of the myths when it comes to podcasting is that you need an iPod to listen to the audio. Nothing can be more wrong than that. Different creative ways are invented to use virtually any media player which has the capability to play audio file for podcasting. According to Wikipedia, podcasting is a method of publishing audio programs via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new files (usually MP3s). Yet others refer podcasting as downloading audio content (an enclosure contained in a feed) and synchronize it with your iPod or other media device. So which one is true? Both of them. Yes, I'd like to view podcasting as delivering audio content through an RSS (version 2.0) feed and for clients to grab the content and listen to it at their own pace and place. The community later invented new term to refer to the client part: podcatching. Why is it so popular? End-users tend to adapt new technology if it requires minimal effort on their part. They may very well scared off by podcasting the first time they hear it. Thanks to an awful name assigned to it. Letting them know that they require very few simple steps to start podcasting helps. Adds to the fact about the benefits of podcasting and the kind of content waiting for them, and they will be sold in no time. If you use these tactics to persuade your site visitors to subscribe to your podcast, you will see higher conversion from visitors to subscribers. Probably one of the important factors that makes podcasting so popular is that it uses existing technologies and expands on current ones that have proven to be working. This is not to say that proprietary technology won't succeed, but it sure helps if it can leverage and build on things that are widely accepted standards and protocols. MP3, RSS, and HTTP Podcasting -- which most of the time is in the form of audio -- uses the well known file format such as MP3. Imagine how hard podcasting have to try to penetrate into the market if it tries to invent a new file format for itself. MP3 has been around for quite a while. It is small (in file size), portable, reliable and popular. Current media players and portable devices have been built with support for popular file formats, including MP3 even before podcasting is ready. This can only mean that once podcasting is opening door to the public, it can reach as many target audience as it possibly can. Podcasting takes the existing RSS 2.0 standard to carry its metadata content. It builds upon the standard, make it working with much less of a struggle. Dave Winer made this possible by adding enclosure to RSS feeds. Finally you can use the same standard that is used by web browsers to request and send data. Yes, the same language for the World Wide Web: HyperText Transport Protocol (HTTP). Using the same protocol for the web means that podcasting can transfer the feed and the payload without reinventing the wheel. At the same time it will be supported by existing web browsers with no or at least minimal development. Alternative and traditional download of audio file comes natively supported by any web browser, while supports for RSS and podcast feeds require minimal development on top of existing codebase. If podcasting and RSS use different protocol, they may not be integrated into any browser at all. Additionally, you can host your podcast feed and audio files on any web server used to serve HTML documents. Developers can simply put together features from different standards and protocols and immediately have a working podcast client to use. Of course, if they are going to make it good, they have load of works to do, but at least the whole things have been simplified. What's next? Realizing that podcasting is a great marketing tool is not enough. There has to be enough end-users adapting this technology for it to be effective. Think of it like e-mail. It is a useful tool but pretty much useless unless all of your friends and her sisters use it. Especially with a new technology like this, you need to help visitors to understand the technology. Explaining the benefits on a webpage, including how they can take advantage of the content. Link to it on your blog or podcast page, preferably beside your Podcast RSS feed. I have no doubt podcasting will become popular soon with the integration of popular music/media player with Podcasting such as iTunes. The question now is, how you can take advantage of it to your business after they subscribe? Don't Undermine Your Diet

Don't Undermine Your Diet
by: Kirsten Hawkins
Let's start this article off right. You are not 'going on a diet'. Our concept of 'a diet' implies a temporary change that will work miracles - if we're only strong enough to stick to it. That way of thinking is encouraged by decades of 'fad diets' that promised us quick, low-effort weight loss, if we just ate this one miracle food. I still remember the Cabbage diet, the No-Carb diet and the Banana diet, among others. Over and over throughout the last 40 years, diets that advocated eating by a strictly enforced menu have been proven ineffective, or worse, dangerous. Going on a diet also implies that you will eventually go off your diet - whether you 'fall off' it, or return to 'normal eating'. The secret to losing weight and keeping it off is to create a new eating plan that will BECOME your normal eating. And this is the place that most of the popular 'diets' fail. Any diet that restricts your intake of ANY necessary nutrients too severely will ultimately fail you. In order to lose weight and maintain your weight loss indefinitely, you need to teach yourself to eat a balanced diet in portions that your body needs. Below is a list of common diet mistakes that will undermine your attempts to lose weight. * DON'T restrict your intake to less than 1000 calories a day, unless you are under the supervision of a doctor. Restricting your intake that severely can lead to serious health complications. It also will convince your body that it's starving and slow your metabolism so that it conserves your stores of food. In other words - your body will kick into gear to hold onto your fat so you don't starve to death. * DON'T cut out one or more entire food groups, including fats. Your body needs an adequate intake of all nutrients in order to stay healthy. In every food group there are 'good' and 'bad' choices for weight loss. Stick to the good ones, and you'll see your weight dropping without compromising your health. * DON'T fast for extended periods without medical supervision. For the same reasons that you shouldn't restrict your intake of calories to less than 1000 a day, you shouldn't embark on a fast that lasts more than 48 hours without a doctor's supervision. * DON'T purge. Purging, whether by emetics, diuretics, vomit-induction or laxatives robs your body of more than the nutrients that you're getting rid of. It's unsafe at any speed. You can end up with far worse problems than a few extra pounds. * DO see your doctor before starting a serious diet. He or she can recommend a visit to a nutritionist to help you design a common sense weight loss plan that will naturally evolve into a healthy eating style that will last a lifetime. Google AdSense and Blogs

Google AdSense and Blogs
by: Diane Nassy
If you have a blog, or are thinking about starting a blog, then you are definitely going to want to read this article. It’s all about how to line your pockets with money that’s just waiting to be made without working much harder than you already are. No only are blogs the hottest thing on the ‘net right now, but they are custom-made for Google’s AdSense program. Why? It’s simple. Blogs represent constantly changing and fresh content to Google’s search engine spiders. Feeding fresh content to those little spiders is just like tossing raw meat to a tiger. They just gobble it up. The more pages of your blog that get indexed, the more traffic you get. And the more traffic you get, the more exposure your AdSense ads get. Are you beginning to see where I’m heading here? It’s not just Google that loves new content, all of the major engines do. In fact, some web-savvy bloggers are testing Google ads on one page and Overture ads on the other. It doesn’t take too long to see which ads are doing the best when you have nearly side-by-side comparison statistics to look at. Just don’t make the mistake of putting Google and Overture ads on the same page together. While they won’t kill each other like a pair of Siamese fighting fish in the same bowel will, you will be violating both sites’ Terms of Service, and it isn’t worth killing the goose (geese) that laid the golden egg. It’s a snap to set up Google AdSense ads on your blog. Everything you need to know is right inside of the Google control panel. What’s not so easy is figuring out what ads are going to appear on each page. Since Google targets your key words, and your blog articles could possible wander towards any subject, you never know what you’re going to get. Well, “never” is a strong word because there actually IS a way to pre-test your blog’s ads before you post your newest edition. Here’s what you do: • Write your blog article like you normally would • Plug in your AdSense code and then post your newest page to a sub directory that’s not part of your blog. • Click refresh a few times until Google wakes up and starts sending ads. • If you don’t like what you see then fine-tune the article until you see the types of ads that you’re looking for. With some ads paying as much as $5 per click or more, I’d certainly spend an extra 30 minutes or so tweaking my blog. That’s for sure. If you’re working hard to get your blog in front of visiting eyeballs, then it doesn’t make any sense at NOT to be using Google AdSense to draw every penny out of your site that’s possible. OK, that’s the end of the article. Now get busy tweaking your blog and checking your ads. You’ve got money waiting to be made! About the author:Diane provides marketing and internet profit tips. 5 Quickest Ways To Massive Windfalls Of Cash Online

5 Quickest Ways To Massive Windfalls Of Cash Online
by: Ewen Chia
Copyright 2005 Ewen Chia

These days everyone wants to know how to make money online. Yet, for some, this lifestyle seems out of reach. Does this describe you at all? If you’ve been banging your head against the wall trying to figure out the quickest and easiest methods to generate cash for yourself online, then these five tactics should have you opening your eyes wide and wondering: “Why didn’t I think of this before?”

Cash Tactic #1: Affiliate Products Affiliate products offer the small, home-based business owner the opportunity to make truckloads of cash, while investing a minimum in over head. Low overhead is the primary benefit of affiliate marketing. You don’t need your own merchant account. You don’t need to pay a web designer and programmer to create a huge e-store for you. You don’t handle customer complaints, refunds or returns... All you do is refer the prospect to the merchant’s site, and the merchant handles the rest. I believe the best affiliate products are information products. Your commissions on information products tend to be higher simply because the author can price an information product higher than what the average shopper spends on a tangible product sold online on a typical day. This is because the value of information is ambiguous at best, and subjective to how the prospect sees value. People are willing to spend much, much more in order to acquire a solution to their problems.

Cash Tactic #2: Resale Rights Resale rights are the lazy marketer’s salvation. You don’t have to create your own product. You don’t have to write a single word. You may not even have to lift a finger on sales page creation when the resale product comes with a ready-to-upload sales page. All you do is pay the licensing fee to acquire rights to the product, perform a small amount of editing to change the payment link over to yours, and upload the sales page and product file to your web server. The trend is taking a turn for the better in 2005 while the marketing world goes through its latest “next big thing”: niche marketing. Today, you can find products with resale rights for such things as cooking, golf, arts and crafts, self-improvement and more. Seizing on the profits promised by demand for niche products, there are dozens of new authors out there who have devoted themselves to turning out these niche products, and offering them with resale rights.

Cash Tactic #3: Special Reports A special report is a ‘mini e-book’ of no more than about 5 to 12 pages in length. While you can certainly create a mini-ebook that sells (provided the information it contains is perceived to be valuable enough), the best use of a short report is as a lead generating tool for your affiliate campaigns. The mini-ebook is the ideal viral tool. You create (or acquire) a mini-ebook which is branded with your affiliate links and/or your main URL. The focus of the report should be niche specific and completely focused on the pre-selling of the affiliate product.

Ten Ways To Promote Your Site And Increase Traffic

Ten Ways To Promote Your Site And Increase Traffic
by: Keith Gloster
Copyright 2005

Keith GlosterWebsite promotion is a vital area in internet marketing that you should learn to master immediately. Your website is your HQ on the web, and as such, should be made prominent at the soonest possible time. The more people who would know about your website, the more visitors you would have.Increased web site traffic would mean more potential sales and an expanded customer base. Here are ten useful ways to increase the volume of traffic of your site:

1. Get Your Own Domain Name.People will never forget catchy domain names. Getting your own domain name will provide familiarity and recall. Be sure to choose a short and easy to remember domain name that is appropriate to your business.

2. Upload New, Original and Useful Content.Blatant ads such as banners and pop-ups only irritate visitors. Give them information they can't find anywhere else, and give it to them for free. Always think benefits when posting a new article or feature. Thinking of ways to get your visitor what they want will establish respect and more importantly trust.

3. Submit Your Site to Search Engines.Search engines bring more than 75% of traffic to most web sites. Search engine submissions means serious work. This involves search engine positioning and meta tag placements. It doesn’t end there because you need to test this with a number of search engine tools. This process involves constant monitoring of website competitors, and continuousediting of pages.

4. Pay For Top Spots. The best way to get website traffic without trying too hard would be through paid advertisements. These advertisements would be posted on prime locations or banners of websites. Popular websites like leading newspapers and search engines would provide immediate recognition and visibility to their customers. Of course this entails some substantialadvertising budget, but it is a good recourse for those who could afford it.

5. Form an Online Community. An online community can be a message board, email groups, discussion list, and even a chat forum. Actively participate in these on-line groups by posting answers to other people’s questions and post appropriate information. Be visible and include your signature at the end of your postings. Maximize these special interest groups because people in onlinecommunities get involved easily and are ready to communicate with others.

This will ensure that you create a loyalfollowing of interested readers.Tip #4 - Information is king, be informative. If you are attempting to create the impression that you areknowledgeable about a specific industry or sector, be surethat you stay current on news. Use bullet points, gostraight to the point and never run out of topic. Insertimages to spice up things if you're an avid fan of longposts.Tip #10 - Utilize the
and tagsBeing one of the few most underutilized blogging formattingtags, these 2 items can help you on emphasizing certainpoints, in the most efficient and striking way. Formattingis simple and straightforward. Just
HiWorld!and your message will apeardistinctively different from the rest of your text, thusgets more attention which it deserves. Take note that theformatting for these 2 tags differ from blog to blogdepending on how the owner defines the tag in the CSS(Cascading Style Sheets).Click the below link if you want to read more about CSS.==>http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.aspTip #11 - Keyword-rich.If the goal of your blog is to increase your visibility, include related keywords in the title of the blog. Use thetitle as a headline to attract interest. Each item postshould have a title that will attract attention but still berelevant to the post. The title should be no longer than10-12 words. Experiment with the titles if you must, possibly try to avoid general and ordinary titles. Try toinclude extraordinary and innovative titles to grab thereaders' attention.Tip #12 - Spell checking and proof-reading.It only takes a few extra moments and can save you fromhaving to make embarrassing explanations. The hazards ofInternet is that if you're too late to correct your mistake, most likely it's already been crawled by the search enginesand read by many. It is extremely essential to think / proofread carefully twice or even thrice, about what you postbefore doing so. Take note of your language and grammar.Tip #13 - RSS FeedsRSS to a blog is like fuel to cars. Mostly every single freeblogs or bloggin software out there will have an automaticRSS feed generating feature. Although it's most unlikelythat you'll find one without a RSS feature, simply leave itand find a new one, if you happen to come across one withoutit.Tip #14 - The essence of the Internet - Traffic. It's nosecret. You must have traffic to realize the definition of ablog.. There are numerous ways to build traffic. As long as you canefficiently and appropriately increase that Return Valueconstantly, it is mostly guaranteed that you'll be gettingtonnes of repeated visitors, period. An advance notice, prelaunch announcement or anythingsimilar to that also can act as a short term return valuestrategy. Encourage readers to comment on your such notices/ posts. Experiment and play around with this idea.Tip #19 - Multiple blogsIt never hurts to use multiple blogging accounts to attractmore people. World Of Warcraft

World Of Warcraft is one of the most poplar online games to play on the Internet today. It has an all age group from kids to adults. It is hours of fun for everyone one, you can play in groups or play solo. All players must choose between the opposing factions of Alliance or Horde. Characters from the opposing factions can perform rudimentary communication and trade, but only members of the same faction can speak, email, group, and share guilds. The player selects the new character's race (species), such as Orcs or Trolls for the Horde or Humans or Dwarves for the Alliance. Players must also select the class for the character, with choices such as mages, warriors and priests available. Some classes are limited to particular races.Their are many different servers in the games, so you can pick a server (realm) to PVP or RP. PVP is player verses play and RP is Roll Playing. In PVP the Alliance and the Horde are allowed to attack each other and it makes the game very interesting because you can get be attack at any moment when out questing. It is a adrenalin rush when you are suddenly attacked by a opposite player but it can get annoying being killed to many times when trying to level up a player by questing. When on the RP realms you can set a flag so you can go questing and not be attacked by opposite faction and it also lets you create both Alliance and Horde on the same server.

The game world features three continents on the world of Azeroth and a separate planet known as Draenor, original home of the Orc and Draenei races, now referred to as Outland. In this game world, players use their characters to explore locations, defeat creatures and complete quests, among other such activities. By doing this, characters gain experience points. After a set amount of experience points have been gained, a character gains a level, opening up the option of learning new skills or abilities, exploring new areas and attempting new quests. As a player explores new locations, a number of transport shortcuts become available. Players can discover "flight masters" in newly discovered locations and then use those NPCs in order to fly to previously discovered locations in other parts of the world. Players can also use facilities such as boats or zeppelins in order to move from one of the continents on Azeroth to the other. Although the game world remains reasonably similar from day to day, seasonal events that reflect on real world events such as Halloween, Christmas, Children's Week, Easter and Midsummer have been added. Locations can also have changeable weather such as rain, snow and dust storms.
A number of facilities are available to characters when in towns and cities. In each major city characters can access a bank in order to deposit items, such as treasure or crafted items. Each bank is unique to that character, with players able to purchase additional storage space. In the major cities of Azeroth, Auction houses also exist as a way for characters to sell items to others in a similar way to online auction sites such as eBay. Players can also use mailboxes, which can be found in almost every town. The mailbox can be used to collect items won at auction and also to send messages, items and even in-game money to other characters.
Some of the harder challenges in World of Warcraft require players to group together to defeat them. These usually take place in dungeons, also known as instances, that a group of characters can enter together. The term comes from each group or party having a separate copy or instance of the dungeon, complete with their own enemies to defeat and their own treasure or rewards. This allows players to explore areas and complete quests without other players outside the group interfering. Dungeons are spread over the game world and are designed for characters of varying progression. A typical dungeon will allow up to five characters to enter as part of a group. Some dungeons require more players to group together and form a raid of limited size (up to forty players) to face some of the most difficult challenges. As well as dungeon-based raid challenges, several creatures exist in the normal game environment that are designed for raids to attack. Websites like http://wow.allakhazam.com/ are also a big help when stuck on a Quest and many players often use their guide to help them move up in levels quicker.
